It’s been a long time! But I’m still snapping away.

Hi guys!

As the title insinuates…. it’s been a very long time! About half a year at least since I last updated! 😦 But I just wanted to let my fellow bloggers know that I’M STILL GOING! 🙂 If anything, I’m doing more than ever! I have so so so so much to share with you regarding my work, so I will try to do that eventually.

I’m not sure If many of you can remember the start of my journey, but I know that a few of you have been with me since the beginning. I was always told I had the ‘eye for a good photograph’ – something many are told. I thought that my stuff was ok, but it was HERE where I decided to throw a few photos out there. (Look back to my first posts 3 years ago) I had no confidence in my work at all, and a hell of a lot to learn ( I used to shoot on AUTO all the time) – A lot of you really gave me encouragement to carry on, develop my own style and skills and more. I just want to thank you all again, anyone that has ever given me a push, a nice comment or even a like – It’s all got me to the point I’m at now.

In the last six months alone, I have taken thousands of photographs. I’ve been commissioned many times, I’ve had photographs selected for 2 calendars (1 winning the whole competition) – I’ve also had one of my images selected to be used in the UK’s best selling Triathlon Magazine – anyone that knows me knows how hard I’ve been trying to build my name up in this field – as well as others!

In 2 weeks I will be shooting my first wedding, solo. Something I never dreamed of doing, because I was nervous – I feel fine about it. 🙂

I have grown so much in this photography journey, my style has changed, my knowledge has changed (and will continue to grow) – I have changed as a person, but the passion has always remained. I love it and that will never change, I will continue to take what I can from this competitive field while being genuinely grateful for whatever I can make of it.

  2. You *have* arrived as a *photographer* if you do weddings. You’re a brave soul. I’ve only done a couple. Scary, but I survived. Good to know you are still grabbing images. Your tri stuff and animal photos are top notch!

Thanks so much for your comment. 🙂 Weddings wasn’t really the direction I wanted to take my work, but been asked to do a friends sisters small wedding – only about 25 guests and quite a quick marriage so I agreed and I will see where that goes. Thanks for your kind words, Triathlon and animals are two of my favourite things to photograph. Really love it. Hope you are well!

      • Our local newspaper, of which I’m the editor, has begun having our paper printed through a color web press at another shop. Goodbye faithful black-and-white press. Uncharted territory for us, although many area newspapers have made the move. I’ve got to start thinking in color as well, so it’s a new challenge. It’s enjoyable, though!
